LOCATION SETTING
OURAN ACADEMY
THIRD MUSIC ROOM: The main working and gathering area of the Host Club, you will always find at least one of its members inside. Usually, the room is adorned with decor and is inhabited by the Host Club dressed up in their latest, and expensive, costumes and satin robes that is meant to hold a certain theme. Although, when no event is being held, the room is simply a large room with little but a leather couch and working desk.
LIBRARY: For those students who need brush up on their reading, find a specific piece of information, or to simply find a quiet place to study, the Ouran Library has rows upon rows of immense book cases lined with literature, maps, and fiction. In select areas, you can also find polished hardwood desks where students are often found completing assignments.
CLASSROOMS: The professors in each of the classrooms are of the highest paid faculty in the country. They offer courses in a wide variety of fields and also discuss class bonding activities that are often held on holidays such as Halloween.
LUNCH ROOM: All students who's stomachs are running on empty can always come here. The food here is high quality and comes in all varieties. Beautifully crafted marble top tables, with hand-crafted soft cushions on the chairs that line these long tables, make sure that the time spent there is as comfortable as can be.
HALLWAYS: The marble floored hallways usually always have at least one student wandering through its aisles. The vast paned windows that line one side give a beautiful and clear view of the grounds outside. During special occasions or bonding events, the walls are decorated with the appropriate designs in celebration.
NURSE'S OFFICE: Whether it be a stomach ache, a cold, the flu, or even if you've just taken a nasty fall, the nurse here will fix you right up. Because of Ouran Academy's wealthy owner, the nurse's office is always full of different medications and such that will have you fixed up in no time.
BALLROOM: This is a place where the most extravagant of events are held for the school. Often times, the Host Club will hold special events for their club here. When not in use, it's kept clean and in good shape. It is considered off-limits to students when not in use, but that certainly doesn't stop some people...
ACADEMY GROUNDS
FRONT GATE: This is the front gate of the school. Students make their arrival beneath a large, imposing gate where the top bar appears to be gold; a promise of the exuberant amount of wealth found within the school walls.
GROUNDS: The actual grounds of Ouran are lush and perfectly manicured. Interesting topiary and fountains line walkways and one is apt to find things such as precious pieces of sculptured art while taking walks across the lawns.
ROSEMAZE: Although the dazzling roses are a spectacular marvel, they hide the danger behind their beauty. Getting lost in this immense maze, especially if you're new to the school, can cause quite the predicament for a wandering student. But there are a few covered places to sit down in privacy for young romantics.
GARDEN FOUNTAIN: Just outside of the doors of the academy is a beautifully crafted fountain that is set in the middle of a man made rectangular lily pond. Water is always flowing from the fountain and provides a dazzling spot in which to unwind or cuddle up with that special someone.
GREENHOUSE: Located further within the actual grounds of Ouran Academy, there is a lush and decadent greenhouse. Aside from being a place for a pleasant stroll, this greenhouse also serves as a place for the Garden Club to meet and work on raising their plants.
OUTSIDE OURAN
Around Town
A small cobblestone and brick street is lined with many shops and stores where almost anything may be purchased. Here and there are high class stores and courts where the Ouran students can find quality items.
UENO PARK: One of the most famous parks in Japan, Uneo Park is a spacious public park and resides in the Taito-ku region of Tokyo. It contains three museums, two shrines, a concert hall and a zoo within its borders. It is famous for the yearly blooming of the cherry blossoms, which begins in late March and lasts until May. This park is popular with both tourists and residents and is always busy.
MALL: Although the town stores are much closer than the mall, the closed in air conditioned building is often favored during the humid summer months. Much like in town, almost everything a student needs and more can be found inside.
PRIVATE BEACH: Not far from the Ouran grounds is a beach that has been designated specifically for the Academy students. However, this does not stop univited 'guests' from intruding who all too often have their eyes on the Ouran girls.
RESORT PARK: This park, owned by the Ootori family, is for their high paying clientele and patients to come and relax a little from the stress of every day life. If you're looking for a place to unwind, this is it!
RESIDENTIAL
HARUHI'S APARTMENT COMPLEX: Far away from the shining mansions and large homes of most of Ouran's students, the more common apartments and duplexes of normal life fill the streets of the city. One such complex holds the home of Haruhi.
HANINOZUKA ESTATE: The home of the Haninozuka family exists in a more traditional style Japanese home and complex, although it is far from normal just like the rest of the club and school.
HITACHIIN MANSION: To call it a mansion is an understatement since this immense building looks to be the size of a mall. The twins often hold random and sometimes unorganized parties here. With the endless marble hallways and staff, there is always something to keep you occupied.
OOTORI MANSION: Much like the Hitachiin Mansion, the Ootori household is massive, but is slightly bigger and with a more modernistic and less elegant flair to it.
SUOU MANSION: The Suou mansion is the largest out of all the Host Club members and is the home of Tamaki. It is, however, split between a main mansion and a smaller mansion (where the King resides). Friends of Tamaki will only get to see the smaller of the two mansions. There are endless staff members at someone's beck and call and never a lack of things to do.
TIME MANAGEMENT
Because having each month on the site equal a month in real life would seem ridiculous, we have decided to have "shorter" months. Three weeks in real life will equal one month in the RP world of Inscription. For example: The calendar will start off in January while it is currently July. Three weeks from now, the month will be changed to February.
Let's say you start a thread while the month is January, but sometime in the duration of your thread, the month changes to February. Since the thread was started in January, any events that take place during the thread happen during that month. However, threads, and therefore events, can happen in any order, something called fluid time. If Derek and Owen have a thread where Owen gets shot in OOC (Out of Character) July 15th, but Owen has a date with Cristina where he is not wounded on OOC July 17th, even though the date came second chronologically, you may say that the date came before the shooting. That is an example of fluid time.
Things in the Mindless Banter section of the board typically operate on OOC time. That means for things such as Character of the Month, Member of the Month, Polls, Surveys, Activity Checks, and Superlatives take place during the month that it currently is in real life, not on the board, and therefore, will not change when the month on the site changes.
